Who are Mapway and what do we do?
We develop travel apps, to help millions of users around the world plan journeys on public transport. Our innovative navigation apps are available on both iPhone and Android devices, in some of the busiest cities on the planet such as London, New York, Paris and Singapore.
With 51 transport apps for 24 different cities, including Tube Map – our award winning London Underground app – Mapway has over 13 million users worldwide and our apps have been downloaded over 50 million times. All of these apps rely for their success on their high quality – something that is ensured by our QA (Quality Assurance) team.
About Mapway’s Graduate Schemes in Manchester
We are looking for university graduates with a flair for development and a passion for technology, to become permanent, full time members of our mobile apps team in Manchester.
Our graduate scheme is an exciting opportunity to evolve quickly in the world of mobile development, gaining hands on experience by working on key projects. Our graduates will work within Mapway’s award winning development team, using Agile methods and working on some of the world’s largest public transport apps. And because our development cycles are very fast moving, you’ll get to see the results of your work used by millions of people around the world, all within weeks of you joining the company.
To be successful within the role you will have:
- An energetic, creative and motivated attitude to work.
- Graduated from university (with a 2:1 degree or higher), ideally in a STEM subject.
- Relevant technical competences and ideally a basic understanding of writing code.
- Optionally, work experience within a digital agency or software company.
All graduates will be partnered up with a mentor in their first year to support them in settling in and then throughout the programme, helping them to develop new skills.
About Mapway’s mobile development team
Our award winning development team uses the latest Agile working practices within the mobile app industry. Everyone in the team has a voice about how we develop products and features, meaning you will be able to make a difference from day one.
As part of the team you will also be encouraged to use the latest Android and iPhone features and always have an up to date knowledge of mobile development principles. So there’s no chance of your skills becoming outdated.
Mapway’s Tube Map app was awarded the Android Excellence accolade in the Google Play Store, testament to the hard work and dedication our development team puts into producing high quality apps.
